• What happened to June?

    Hello!

Not for the first time, I’ll be starting a post with a little apology.

I’m so sorry about the lack of blogging last month. Other than posting about Paris (I solemnly swear never to mention it again after this), I didn’t share anything from that rather hectic month.

But I don’t want to skip over June completely, so I thought I’d take some time to stop and look back at what I’ve been up to.

I should do it more often – I was pretty amazed at how much I squeezed into one month! And that was just the food. #SorryNotSorry

So, let’s start at the beginning.

    My birthday

June is an important month for me, because it begins with my birthday!

On 2 June, I turned 24 – that’s scary enough. But this year I’d been so busy, it took me completely by surprise!

    So what did I do?

I went to work. I’m usually completely against the idea of working on your birthday (because why work when you can have a lie in and eat cake for brunch?) but this year, I made an exception. Because my birthday fell right in the middle of a fun circus-themed conference. Yep, I work at the best place. So really, it wasn’t a chore at all.

Highlights included walking on fire, learning circus tricks and dancing all night at a big ole fancy dress party. I came as an old-fashioned circus performer (although when I wasn’t holding my hula hoop I was basically just a flapper). Learning how to hula hoop – see below – was an important milestone for me.

    Hi, Queenie!

Just as the conference was wrapping up, Queenie pulled into Poole Train Station and our week of fun began. See our Weymouth day trip and Parisian adventures!

All of the food, all of the time…

I shall remember June fondly as a month of Pizza Hut binges on girls’ nights in, ice cream cones by the sea during lunch breaks, baking brownies (recipe coming soon!), Father’s Day feasts and epic desserts. Go June!

    And the rest

When I wasn’t snapping in front of French landmarks, becoming a circus performer or eating everything in sight, I enjoyed kisses from Poco, got my first birthday bouquet, poured over postcards from America (I bloody love postcards) and facilitated cat naps.

    A quick nod to May

Whilst I’m here, I might as well acknowledge a few fun things that happened in May!

According to my Instagram, it was a month of washed up jellyfish, sunset walks on the beach, brewhouse burgers and polaroid fun with Josh and Queenie, pre-birthday calzones and cloning machines (shout out to the lovely Ellie!), afternoon tea and mammoth meals with Maddy (why did we think we could eat an entire chicken and three sides?) and pink bubble baths.

    That sounds about right.

Phew. I can breathe a sigh of relief and we can move on to enjoying July together.

    Until next time! xx
