Poco’s first walk

Hi everyone, meet Poco! 

If you’ve seen my Instagram or Twitter feeds recently, you’ll already be familiar with this little bundle of cuteness. She’s a Chihuahua x Jack Russell, 11 weeks old and belongs to my friend Maddy. And today we took her on her very first walk!

A beachside stroll is one of my favourite things in the world – and today we drove to Boscombe Beach, where sand, sea and breakfast awaited us. 

At first, Princess Poco didn’t much like the idea of walkies. She sat on the ground and refused to budge. It took us about 10 minutes to move a few steps – not helped by the fact that absolutely everyone who walked past stopped to chat. But hey, when you’re as cute as Poco, that’s life. 

Eventually we made it to Urban Reef – although we did have to carry Poco 95% of the way. Her puppy dog eyes were impossible to resist!

Urban Reef

Urban Reef is one of my favourite places to grab breakfast (eggs benedict and a tall glass of OJ, please). I was momentarily heartbroken when we arrived and realised they’d just stopped serving breakfast. Note to self: get there before 11.30am!

But thankfully the lunch menu looked equally delicious. Maddy chose a mountain of nachos, and I decided to be adventurous and try something I’d never had before: a ciabatta with pulled pork, apple chutney and red coleslaw. I got to add three new things to my food list (see: New Years goals) – and surprised myself by really liking it all. A real success in my books!

Poco’s first walk was also a huge success –  post-brunch, we hit the beach and she actually walked on her lead for the whole stretch! 

This is a snap of her on the drive home – I think it’s safe to say we tired her out!
