• Weymouth

Bonjour! I’m back from Paris and have plenty of snaps and anecdotes to share. But all in good time! First I want to show you a few snaps from Weymouth, a pretty seaside town Queenie and I visited before we set off on our Parisian adventure.

    Let me introduce Queenie

I met Queenie in my first year of university. Back then, she was a Topshop-wearing, camera-toting scenester with an enviable side fringe and a penchant for making things look cool. Queenie now lives in Hong Kong, you can read about her life over there on Peanut butter and Mussels, and she loves adventure: seeing new places and trying new things seem to be her favourite past times.
And that’s why we chose to visit Weymouth – as Queenie had never been before. Our first port of call was somewhere to grab some proper fish and chips. It’s sort of the law when you’re by the sea, right? We chose a restaurant rather than take away as it was seriously windy and I prefer salty, not sandy, chips.

After our feast, we strolled along the beach and took a few photos. I was ridiculously excited about using my new camera – all the power of my DSLR, but much more handbag friendly.
Despite the distinctly chilly breeze, people were still having a good ole sunbathe. You have to admire the British dedication to beach season! Side note: doesn’t Weymouth have the loveliest selection of deck chairs ever!?

    Candles and postcards

Once we’d reached the end of the beach, we forked right and headed into Weymouth town. It’s pretty picturesque, with bunting-clad streets, souvenir shops and quaint cafes.

We found an amazing furnishing shop called Bibi’s – think decorative cushions, faux flowers, elegant armchairs and pretty trinket boxes. It seriously made me wish I had a flat to decorate.

Sadly I left Weymouth empty handed (yet full-bellied), but Queenie bought a rather delicious smelling candle, postcards and a souvenir magnet. Half way through our Paris trip, I realised she sought these same three items wherever we went – I like to think of it as a Queenie calling card.

I’ll be posting my Paris adventures ASAP – keep your eyes peeled! x

This looks like such a fun adventure! I adore your striped top and I don't think I've ever craved a tasty fish and chips meal so much as I do right now haha 🙂 Enjoy Paris when the time comes!
